Stan Baukus has been interested in cars for many decades. His first projects were personal, including several Chevy Novas in the 1960s, the repainting of a 1978 International Scout in the'70s. In 1980, he and his wife Ginny and daughter Tara bought a motel on Cape Cod and work in the new family business kept him away from automotive projects until 1988. In 1988, he undertook his first street rod, a 1929 Ford Sedan Delivery, which fulfilled a long time dream to have a rod of his own. The paint was barely dry on the delivery when daughter Tara was asking for a street rod too. The pair worked together (under Stan's strict guidance) to build a 1932 Ford pickup for Tara, Stan's second project and the beginning of a second career. When Stan and Ginny sold the motel, projects soon began finding their way to Stan and Cool Cars By Stan was born...
